Free and Easy Wandering: a half day meditation retreat

Feelings of stress, exhaustion, and irritability are a real struggle. Come spend an easy and comfortable half-day with us as we practice a variety of simple meditation techniques to help you find peace in brief moments of time.

We will be leading people through a basic introduction to the different forms of meditation in our system:

  1. Standing meditation (zhanzhuang 站桩)
  2. Seated meditation (jingzuo or “sitting in stillness” 静坐)
  3. Walking meditation (taijibu 太极步 or Tai Chi Walking)
  4. Reclining meditation (zhelongfa 蛰龙法, “hibernating dragon method”)

At the most basic level all four of these types of meditation are ways of engaging in deep rest, the theme for the afternoon. Our retreat will focus on these four techniques and include a handout with detailed descriptions of the practices.
