About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour

Whether you have “Wished Upon a Star”, wanted to “Let It Go”, gone ”Over the Hills and Far Away”, taken your medicine with “A Spoonful of Sugar”, or chased “that pesky wabbit”, you will want to be at the Coopersville Center Stage Theatre on Monday night, October 7 for the first concert of the 21st season of the Coopersville Community Concert Band. The CCCB will be presenting a concert of Disney and cartoon music aimed at the child in all of us.

Conducted by Luanne DeVries and Tom Harsay, the concert will begin at 7:30 and last one hour, and will be one of the most light-hearted and entertaining evenings young and less-young can have together. What can be better than that?? Oh, wait - it does get better…the evening is FREE to all who attend!

The band will perform:

  • Mickey Mouse March
  • Disney at the Movies
  • Exuberance
  • Highlights from Mary Poppins
  • Music from the Incredibles
  • Children’s March “Over the Hills and Far Away”
  • Looney Tunes Overture
  • Selections from Moana
  • Symphonic Highlights from Frozen

Some of the songs will have videos playing along to the live music.

Although this is a school night, we hope to have lots of young audience members. If they choose, our student audience members can dress up as Disney or cartoon characters and receive a prize at the end of the concert. All audience members will be encouraged to join in the fun and sing along to this familiar music.

The band is also committed to help the Rotary Club of Coopersville in their mission to help create a library at a school in Kenya. If you have gently used or new books for children ages pre-school to 8th grade that you would be willing to donate, please bring them with you to the concert. There will be a collection table where they can be left on your way into the auditorium.

The Coopersville Community Concert Band is an adult all volunteer organization which is committed to promote continued participation in music as a way to continue life-long learning, encourage social engagement, and give to the community. The CCCB is part of the Coopersville Area Arts Council, which is a community non-profit organization formed to promote participation and appreciation of fine arts in the community.
