Journey across the ocean with Celtic Harmonies, a captivating concert that weaves together the rich folk traditions of Ireland, Scotland, and the Celtic diaspora in North America. Featuring beloved ballads, haunting laments, and timeless airs, showcasing the universal stories and sounds that unite distant shores.

Join us once a month at Dominion Chalmers United Church for a series of free community concerts led by Music Director Nick Veltmeyer and Artist-in-Residence Emmanuel Solomon. Each concert features performances by talented musicians, special guests from the community, and visiting artists. All are welcome to experience the joy and inspiration of these uplifting performances.

On Sunday, January 19th we welcome The Oak and Holly Quartet for their first performance at Dominion Chalmers!

Founded by Canadian composer and conductor Nick Veltmeyer, the Oak and Holly Quartet brings together exceptional professional singers specializing in folk and early music. With a deep passion for exploring the intersection of tradition and creativity, the quartet’s repertoire spans from the delicate harmonies of early music to the raw emotional storytelling of folk traditions. Nick Veltmeyer's career includes the creation of notable works such as Jimmy and Rosalia: A Settler Folk Opera, Aureas Voces: GATHERING, and An Ocean Apart, as well as the founding of Aureas Voces Indie Early Music.

Nick has created and performed a wide variety of music for over 20 years, as a singer, conductor, organist, pianist, harpsichordist, and composer. Nick is an accomplished interdisciplinary artist who is known for supporting his colleagues, leading many new initiatives and developing a distinctive approach to his productions, blending composition, historical performance, and the oral canon.
