About this event

Gentle Walks for Grieving Hearts is a weekly walking group intended as a gentle social occasion for those who are grieving a loss. Facilitated by Comox Valley Hospice Society volunteers, participants can meet others experiencing a similar situation, enjoy a leisurely walk (approx 45 minutes) at the Courtenay Airpark followed by light refreshments (optional).

Frequently asked questions

Why do I have to register every week?

Space is limited to ensure that new people can always join in and so that there is space for everyone who would like to enjoy light refreshments afterward. :)

Where do I park?

Parking at Ocean Front Village is limited so we suggest parking in the back of A&W or across the street near Canadian Tire at the Driftwood Mall.

Why do I have to sign a waiver?

All participants of CVHS events are asked to sign a waiver and to assume responsibility for their own safety while on the walk.

Does it cost anything?

No, this group is free and open to anyone who has experienced a recent loss and who would benefit from casual socializing. Light refreshments are provided, and donations are appreciated.

What if I register and have to cancel?

If you need to cancel your registration for the week, please call our office to leave a message at 250-871-0696 (press 1 for reception). There may be people on a waitlist that would appreciate being able to have your spot.
