Sept 24 - How to protect yourselves from cyberbullying

Biligual seminar (Cantonese/English) 7:00PM-9:00PM

Speaker: Constable Mo Chong

Cyberbullying is very common nowadays, but does that mean we have to accept that? What behaviors consider as cyberbullying? Don't think only kids would get bullied, adults also got cyberbullied too!!

While we are preparing for the National Bullying Prevention Awareness Month, we will be discussing several issues regarding what people should or should not do on-line/in-person with the York Regional Police such as:

Don’t:

  • Post identifying pictures or personal information that could be used to harm you in the future
  • Add people to your contact list that you don’t know personally
  • Allow others to access your profile by sharing your password
  • Don’t agree to meet with anyone that you’ve only met online (unless an adult / a friend goes with you)
  • Download material without making sure that it is safe to do so

Do:

  • Speak with a trusted adult/friend if you feel uncomfortable about anything that’s happened online
  • HAVE FUN
