In this workshop, Toronto-based artist Dalia Elcharbini will share her gilding tips and techniques, refined over a decade of experience working with mental leaf on various surfaces.
You will learn how to prepare different surfaces for gilding, apply gold leaf on canvas, paper, and sculptural forms, explore different gilding techniques, and finally, how to seal the gold.
The first part of the workshop will feature a step-by-step demonstration by the artist. The second part will allow students to apply what they’ve learned and gild their own artwork, with one-on-one assistance from the artist.
Materials are included in the fee and will be provided during the workshop.
*Optional* feel free to bring an art piece that you wish to gild.
All level artists are welcome.
