Speaker Bio:

Harry Snowboy is a Traditional Cree Healer from the James Bay area of Chisasibi. Since he was raised with, and trained in, the traditional philosophy and ceremonies of his people for 40 years, his services have been in demand across Canada and overseas.

Snowboy has previously acted as a representative for Canada at a world health conference in Australia, and was a speaker at the “Healing our Spirit Worldwide” conference in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Snowboy completed his formal education in Social Science and Police Management Studies, and was Chief of Police in his home community for many years. As a result, he has done extensive community development work, specializing in working with Indigenous youth and high risk factors.

Harry currently works and teaches with his wife of twenty years, Juliana Matoush Snowboy, and have five children. Together, they have taught people cultural-based values and skills for the purpose of reconnecting them to their identity and to assist in the well being of their own communities. Along with their ceremonies they also have utilized a powerful teaching tool to bring people to an understanding of how to bring back the spirituality into their own lives and to their communities and also how to live in balance in today’s world.
