About this event

We encourage you to participate with your web camera on in order to provide visual feedback to our speakers. When called upon by the Chair, please open your microphone, introduce yourself, and share a sentence or two about who you are, where you are located, and what brought you to our club. We especially encourage guests to briefly share any communication and leadership challenges that they may be facing. Guests will also usually have a second opportunity to share their feedback near the end of the meeting. Let us know how the meeting went for you!

Frequently asked questions

How can I join as a paid member?

Please visit greentmvert.ca. Look for "How to join our club" in the menu bar on the left of the page. Briefly there are 3 steps: complete a membership application, pay dues to Toastmasters International and to the club, and then to be voted in by the member and inducted as a new member.

Is your club an English/French bilingual club?

No. Our meetings are held in the English language. On occasion, we have speeches in French by prior arrangement. For a speech in French, we need to arrange to have a speech evaluator who is both fluently English-French bilingual and willing to summarize the key parts of the speech in English.

Why Toastmasters? Why Green/Vert Toastmasters?

Climate action requires effective communication to diverse groups. You can read more in the "Why Green/Vert Toastmasters?" page at greentmvert.ca. You can also visit toastmasters.org. However, the best thing will be to visit our club as a guest to experience it "live".

Do you always meet online? Do you have some hybrid meetings?

Our club usually meets online on Zoom on 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month at 11 AM Eastern Time (Ottawa/Toronto/New York). Online meetings let us welcome guests from all around the world. Once or twice per year we host hybrid meetings or face-to-face local meetups.
