VFS is thrilled to announce our upcoming Christmas concert “Hark! Rejoice! With Brass and Voice!”

This year, our choir has partnered with Free Range Brass, a local professional brass quintet. Their talent is remarkable, and they will bring warmth and majesty to our exciting program.


What to Expect

The program is full of incredible music, with a little something for everybody. Jazz, Gospel, Renaissance, 20th Century classical, your favourite Christmas tunes, and so, SO much brass! As always we invite our lovely audience to sing with us at various times in our program. It’s not a VFS Christmas without some carols and, of course, the Hallelujah Chorus!

Some repertoire highlights include:

  • Christmas Cantata (Sinfonia Sacra) - Daniel Pinkham
  • Ave Maria - Biebl, Bruckner
  • Sweet Little Jesus Boy - arr. Larry Nickel
  • Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring - Bach
  • Hallelujah Chorus - Handel
  • And many arrangements by the renowned Canadian Brass
