Why Support Counselling Services?

Counselling is a critical component of healing for survivors of sexual assault & exploitation in our community. Last year, the Elizabeth Fry Society provided 515 sessions of trauma therapy to those recovering from recent & childhood sexual abuse.

The organization saw a staggering 42% increase in local community members coming through their doors for help and to directly access Victim Support and Counselling services, in addition to a 52% increase in those reaching out for help through the phone, online and in person to inquire towards support.

The need for supporting survivors of abuse in the local community is clear, and access to low and no-cost therapy is crucial on the path of healing. By contributing $39 today, you secure your professional headshot session & support survivors of abuse at the same time!

Frequently asked questions

Is there parking available?

There is paid street parking available near the Rotary Centre for the Arts, as well as multiple paid parking lots near by. We recommend arriving 10-15 minutes early to give yourself time to secure parking and arrive at the venue for your session.

When should I arrive for my photo session?

We recommend arriving at the Rotary Centre for the Arts10-15 minutes prior to the start of your booked session. This will give you time to check in with our team at the registration table and get the most out of your time with your Photographer on site!

What should I wear to my session?

If you are part of corporate Canada, bring a well fitting blazer. Avoid baggy, ill fitting items & avoid puffy sleeves/big shoulder pads. Stay away from busy prints like plaid or florals as they can take attention away from your face. Dress for your dream job/career & bring your positive energy! :)

How long is my photo session?

Each headshot session will be 10-15 minutes long. This will give your Photographer time to capture multiple images of you, ensuring you have variety to choose from in your final image selection.

Can I purchase additional images from my session?

Each session of $39 includes 1 digital image file of your choice. However, if you love more than one image (you will!) & wish to purchase additional images, you may do so! Your Photographer will give you this option on site, and all proceeds will support Elizabeth Fry Society.

Where does the money go?

100% of the proceeds raised at this event will go directly to local non-profit organization Central Okanagan Elizabeth Fry Society in support of their Counselling Program for survivors of sexual abuse, assault & exploitation in the local community. You may learn more at www.efryokanagan.com.

Who holds the copyright to my image & what can I use it for?

Fees for each session include 'all rights licensing', meaning you may legally use your purchased digital headshot for all personal and professional use. Your Photographer will retain copyright of the image, allowing them to use all images for marketing purposes, unless otherwise requested by you.
