About this event
HIGH FIVE® Principles of Healthy Child Development (PHCD) is a 4-hour training that equips front-line leaders (anyone working with children aged 4 to 12 – i.e. camp counsellor, coaches, after school staff, swim instructors) with the tools to immediately enhance the quality of the programs they are leading. It provides essential training in the HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development so front-line leaders understand what they need to do to ensure each child’s social, emotional and cognitive needs are met.
This training is non-refundable; however, requests for registration transfers are considered on a case-by-case basis, and is available on a one-time basis only. At least 5 business days’ notice is required. To request a registration transfer, please send us an email.

At the completion of this training, learners will be able to:
- Create meaningful relationships with the children in their programs by using the activities, information on child development, and resources provided in the training;
- Speak a common language with their fellow staff that is based on prioritizing the developmental needs of the child;
- Develop a child-centred program

This workshop is delivered virtually over Zoom.
You will need a device with a working microphone and webcam. You will also need to ensure your Zoom app is up-to-date so that you can participate fully in the workshop.
Unfortunately only those residing in BC can join this workshop. Please visit highfive.org to find a workshop in your province.
The workshop is a total of 4 hours long. There will be a few short breaks throughout.

You will need to participate in all activities, as well as pass the Knowledge Check at the end of the workshop. You have several attempts to pass the Knowledge Check, and we are happy to support you if you are having any trouble.
The workshop is $95 + GST + Eventbrite fees
Our minimum recommended age is 14-15.
