Join Women Transforming Cities (WTC) for the launch of the Hot Pink Paper Campaign 2-Year Progress Report on Tues, Nov 19th! We're holding Vancouver City Council accountable to their Hot Pink Paper Campaign (HPPC) commitments by tracking how councillors have voted on decisions that impact equity-deserving communities on key topics like affordable housing, climate action, public washrooms and more.
Participants will learn:
- Background on the HPPC
- Why WTC believes tracking council decisions is powerful
- Findings and key takeaways from the 2-year progress report
- Actions we can take to hold council accountable to their commitments to create a city where we all belong
This event is live on Zoom and free to attend.
If you can’t join live, sign up to receive the 2-year report right after the launch!
About HPPC
HPPC is an issue-based campaign that amplifies the priorities of equity-deserving residents in the City of Vancouver. In the lead-up to the municipal election in Vancouver, WTC ran deep engagement with residents and community organizations that helped to identify priority issues. This engagement shaped 8 policy priorities. During the 2022 election, all current city councillors, including Mayor Sim, committed to implementing our policy asks:
1) Equity lens on councillor motions
2) IWG2S+ People’s healing lodge
3) Reducing barriers to affordable housing
4) Protecting tenants from heatwaves
5) Alternative models to community safety
6) Washrooms for all
7) Fully fund climate emergency response
8) Affordable and accessible transit
