About this event

When the clock falls back does your mood, energy and motivation fall with it?

If your wellbeing is impacted by the short, cold days of the season we invite you to join us for this 3 part wellness program for women (covered by Alberta Health Care). Dr. Sandie Hucal, MD and the animals of Free Spirit Sanctuary (FSS) will help you learn how to thrive during the winter months.

You will learn about Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), natural light exposure, phototherapy, vitamin D, optimizing circadian rhythm and sleep, healthy thinking (cognitive reframing), hygge (the art of getting cozy) and the healing power of time in Nature.

Experiential activities will include mindfulness with the animals, making movement fun (play time!), expressive arts, and a variety of Nature connection practices. In the company of a small group of women you will get to spend time with the horses and other animals at FSS, do some exploring in the forest, winter tracking, birding, and more.
