Speaker Bio:


Andre Halfday is from Chippewa of the Thames First Nation his parents are Willis Halfday and Edith Halfday. He is a father with 2 daughters with spiritual adopted children. He has 13 grandchildren.

Andre Halfday was a part of the Peacekeepers Society on Chippewa of the Thames First Nations located ½ hour from London, Ontario. Andre traveled all over Ontario helping different First Nations communities with Drugs and Alcohol prevention, sweating lodges, and security for communities.

Andre has been following his cultural and heritage for over 40 years.

Andre is Sundancer, sweat conductor, pipe carrier, and is the President of the Chippewa Medicine Way which is located on Chippewa of the Thames First Nations. The Chippewa Medicine Way has been in operation for 20 years or more.

Andre believes in our cultural ways and the healing traditions which is a way of life for him. Andre's openness to share his wisdom and passion to his people who are looking for healing for themselves through ceremonies.

Andre is the elder for Akinoo 'amaadiwaad ji Nookaadiziyand Youth (To teach with the land doing it with yourself or with each other to where life comes from a way of being) for over a year.

Is lunch included with my registration?

Yes, food will be ordered for all in-person attendees.

What if I have dietary restrictions?

What if I want to bring my own lunch?

If you want to opt out of the lunch option you can send an email to jenne@aboriginallegal.ca.

Is it assigned seating?

No, the lodge can comfortably seat approximately 25 people. Please arrive by 12:45pm, as the speakers will start on schedule.

Is the event space accessible?

The Indigenous Knowledge Centre/Grandmother Buffalo Lodge are fully accessible, as is the Courthouse. Any specific questions or concerns regarding accessibility should be sent to jenne@aboriginallegal.ca.

Will smudging be available?

Smudging will take place prior to the start of the presentation due to the exhaust system.
