Intermediate Crochet Workshop Series: Cozy Accessories

Join us for our Intermediate Crochet Workshop Series at Ed’s Mercantile! This three part series is designed for those who know know the already know the basics of crochet, and want to take their crochet skills to the next level.


Class 1: Fingerless Gloves (Granny Square Style)

Date: Friday November 15th

Time: 4:15-5:45pm

Materials: 150 yards of light worsted weight yarn in 4 various colours, 5mm hook

We are going to be following a pattern to create the "Flower Power Fingerless Mitts". We will aim to finish the first glove in class, and you can continue working on the pieces for the second glove before the next class.


Class 2: Winter Toque (Cable Cord Stitch)

Date: Friday November 22nd

Time: 4:15-5:45pm

Materials: worsted weight yarn, 4.5-5.5 mm hook, pom pom

In our second session, we’ll start the class finishing the fingerless gloves. Once they are complete, we will move onto the next project which is a winter hat. Beginning at the rim and crocheting upward, we will learn about back post and front post single and double crochets . This project will introduce you to new techniques for creating snug and stylish headwear.


Class 3: Finishing Our Work (Winter Toque)

Date: Friday November 22nd

Time: 4:15-5:45

In our final class together, we will be continuing with the winter hat. In this class you will learn how to decrease your stitches to close off the hat. There will be detatchable pom poms for you to choose from if you wish.


All materials will be provided in the workshop. If you have a particular yarn you would like to buy, you are welcome to. We will be working with a 5 mm hook and light-regular worsted weight yarn, either wool or a wool blend. The hooks will be avaiable to borrow, but I recommend you buy a set of hooks.


Location: Ed’s Mercantile 605 Bloor Street West
Cost: $125- If you bring your own wool receive $10 back for each project.
