Join us for a beginner-friendly embroidery workshop led by Illustration and Textile Artist Camila Szefler! If you’ve never embroidered before, no worries—this class is designed just for you. You’ll learn essential embroidery stitches with hands-on guidance, ensuring you leave feeling confident to continue on your own. This workshop will give you the foundational skills to take on future embroidery projects with ease. Gather inspiration in the world around you , wether observing nature , your favorite objects or a small life detail , and come with your own idea to the class , Camila will help you design your own illustration , you will then learn how to transfer it on fabric and create a beautiful embroidery !

Using a Embroidery kit to use in class, you’ll practice essential stitches to complete your embroidery piece. Each kit includes:

✔ A booklet with detailed instructions to reference after class

✔ Embroidery needle and floss

✔Choose between 3 Illustrations by Camila or Draw your own with her guidance

✔ 6-inch embroidery hoop ( Kit are available to purchase after class for 10$ )

We’ll go over every step, from placing fabric in the hoop and threading your needle to finishing your piece with a professional touch.

Prerequisite:

None! This is a beginner class, and no prior experience is needed. While embroidery is a relaxing and meditative craft, it does require patience and practice. We’ll take plenty of breaks to ensure you feel comfortable and confident in your new skills.

Instructor bio: Camila Szefler is a Canadian-Polish illustrator,and Textile artist with a BFA from ECUAD who is also a current board member of EartHand Gleaners Society in Vancouver.

She enjoys documenting the everyday, wherever that might be, in her small hand bound sketchbook with a captivation to drawing landscapes, patterns and plants. Camila has cultivated a textile art practice that includes embroidery, sewing, printing, and dyeing on textiles, as well as leather tanning, through workshops and self-education..
