About this event

ICCCVan Presents: Celebrating Irish Heritage Month with Mayor of Burnaby, Mike Hurley

Join ICCCVan on March 27th, 6–8 PM at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver for an evening of cocktails, canapés, and conversation as we celebrate Irish Heritage Month with Mayor Mike Hurley of Burnaby.

Born in Magherafelt, Northern Ireland, Mayor Hurley immigrated to Canada in 1983 and has been a dedicated leader in Burnaby for over three decades. A former Derry u18 and u21 player and Gaelic football enthusiast, he has championed Irish sports and culture, playing a key role in bringing the CNC’s to Burnaby this year.

Before entering politics, Mayor Hurley served as a Burnaby firefighter, holding numerous leadership roles, including President of the Burnaby Fire Fighters Association and President of the BC Provincial Fire Fighters Association. His community impact extends far beyond the fire service—he led efforts to raise $15 million for the Professional Fire Fighters’ Burn Fund, supporting burn survivors and their families.

Elected Mayor in 2018 and re-elected unopposed in 2022, he continues to advocate for community well-being, public safety, and charitable initiatives.

Don’t miss this opportunity to connect with Mayor Hurley and celebrate Irish heritage!
