Kultrún World Music Festival 2025's Fundraiser!

May 17, 7 pm / Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Waterloo St. Jacobs

55 Benjamin Road Waterloo, ON N2V 0C6

Join us for a fabulous evening with Marta Elena’s Sexte. Plus Live Music, Dancing, Silent Auction, Delicious Menu, Cash Bar

While prices on everything are rising, we at Neruda Arts are furiously trying to keep our festivals free. The arts should be accessible to everyone!

Join us and get your Latin Groove on. Dance the night away while supporting one of the

Waterloo Region's best-loved festivals. Take part in the silent auction. Enjoy the fares.

This might be our most challenging year yet. Funds are limited. The economy is dubious. People are stressed.

Not only does attending allow you to support Neruda Arts, connect with other interesting and like-minded people, and have a really excellent time, but it also keeps our festivals free, making sure everyone is able to attend.

It is a time when everyone’s soul needs to be soothed by music.

About Marta Elena's Sextet

Marta Elena, a Juno Award winner and Excellence Award winner (Celebration of Latin

Culture and Community) was born into a musical family in Havana, Cuba. In the history

of Salsa, not all ‘Salseros’ have been men. There are some exceptions to that rule, and

Marta Elena is one of them. Singer, Composer, Percussionist and Band leader, Marta

Elena belongs to a new generation of Cuban musicians who honour the island nation's

Afro-Latin musical roots while looking for unique ways to express the music that courses

through the veins of the country. Marta performed with the famous Cuban female band,

Anacaona, and toured extensively with the Caribbe Girls female band.

After moving to Toronto in 2011, Marta is in demand, performing with the who-is-who in

the Canadian scene, and has had notable performances in Canada, USA and Europe.

Marta Elena’s Sextet performs original compositions with the pattern of Cuba's Golden

Age of music, fused with Jazz influences and Cuban classics.
