Everybody loves comics! They’re a fun & approachable combination of art and writing that don’t require you to be a master of either.
Once you learn the basics of constructing your very own comic, you’ll realize that you’re already ready to start sharing your ideas and stories. You’ll leave this class with all the tools you need to make a comic strip of your very own.

Presenter Bio: A cartoonist, author, and educator, Sebastien created comics and wrote under the pen name S.R. Ringuette from 2007-2017. His comics have been printed in newspapers & magazines, been enjoyed online and in book form, and his illustrations have even been featured in an award-winning Canadian web series. After nearly ten years of exhibiting at Alberta comic conventions, selling his novels and printed comic collections, he released a final 10-year anniversary omnibus in 2018.
In 2014, Sebastien started Pen & Panel, a cartooning class for kids & teens through the AWCS. His enthusiasm for sharing an appreciation for the medium of comics has kept him teaching there ever since.
Presently, Sebastien is a professional designer, 2D & 3D animator, and videographer working in marketing who enjoys weaving insights from those disciplines into his workshops on cartooning.
