About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour

Celebrate Lunar New Year! Using traditional Chinese calligraphy compose elegant Spring Festival Couplets. The rich heritage and tradition of Spring Festival Couplets offers an introduction to Chinese calligraphy, poetry, and art forms. These beautiful works not only adorn homes but also convey heartfelt wishes for the year ahead.

Led by Siquan Yin, a National First Class Artist specializing in traditional Chinese calligraphy and painting, participants will learn to write simple yet meaningful words such as "Blessings," "Good Fortune," "Health," and "Longevity." Whether you're creating self-wishes or sharing them with others, this hands-on workshop will inspire creativity and deepen your appreciation for this cherished tradition. Supplies will be provided.

Presented in partnership with the Chinese Association of Mississauga.

This program will take place in Program Room 2B on the second floor. This is a drop-in event, and tickets do not guarantee admission. Seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis for attendees aged 13 and up. Please note that space is limited.
