The Event


In this in-person event at The Post at 750 in Vancouver, Jason Dewinetz of the Greenboathouse Press will discuss his recent efforts to carry on Jim Rimmer’s legacy of designing, engraving, and casting new metal types right here in BC. Focusing on his new typeface Orfei, Jason will explore the various technical processes involved in creating the new type, and its first use in the Greenboathouse Press edition of Crispin Elsted’s recent book, The Turn.

Biography


Jason Dewinetz is a writer, educator, typographer, printer, typecaster, and the proprietor of Greenboathouse Press in Vernon, BC. He is the only person in Canada still making new metal type, and his limited edition books have won several Alcuin Awards citations over the years.
