Generative artifical intelligence is changing many aspects of research, teaching and learning.
The McMaster Guidelines on the Use of Generative AI in Teaching and Learning - August, 2024 offer a starting point for educators to understand and respond to generative AI in teaching and learning, including how to approach academic integrity with respect to generative AI. The Academic Integrity Policy and Research Integrity Policy, outline expectations and procedures for addressing academic and research integrity offences.
This workshop will:
• Discuss capabilities and limitations of generative AI in teaching and learning, as well as considerations for responsible use.
• Provide an overview of the Academic Integrity Policy and the Research Integrity Policy. Discuss scope and process, and how to approach instances of suspected academic and research misconduct.
