What is Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)?

MBSR is an 8-week evidence-based, experiential program designed to provide participants with intensive and systematic training in mindfulness meditation and movement practices and integrating into one’s daily life what is discovered and learned through the process of participating in the program.

What are the time requirements for this class?

To maximize the benefits of MBSR, and for class continuity, participants will be expected to attend 1 of the 2 orientation sessions offered, 8 Thursday evenings classes from 6-8:30 PM EST, as well as one full day of practice which will take place on a Sunday.

What are the Fall 2024 Class Dates?

The Fall 2024 class dates are: • MBSR orientation is either TH 9/26, 4-5:15 PM or FRI 9/27, 2:30-3:45 PM ET • MBSR weekly sessions: 10/1, 10/8, 10/15, 10/22, 10/29, 11/5, 11/12, 11/19 (Tues, 6-8:30 p.m. ET) • There is also a required full day silent retreat from 9:30-5:00 PM ET on Sun Oct 27

What does the class cost?

The class fee is $625 per person. Direct payments can be made to Venmo: @dweingard A sliding fee scale is available as follows: Pay-It-Forward: $825, Standard: $625, Scholarship: $425. Course pricing is set to allow for generosity while meeting individual’s needs.

How is confidentiality handled?

Confidentiality is an integral component of the class. Participants agree to treat anything shared as confidential to the group. There is also no obligation to share anything confidential.

What do I need for class?

Participants are encouraged to find a quiet and comfortable place where they will not be disturbed during class. It is helpful to have either a yoga mat or a soft carpet on which you can lay down. The tech needed is either a laptop or desktop with speaker, microphone, & video capability.

David maintains his own meditation practice and has spent several years studying at Brown University developing the skills and knowledge, and receiving certification, to teach this very valuable and impactful MBSR course.
