About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour

Composer George Rahi and organist Angelique Po present an unforgettable night of music, magic and invention, merging the vibrant acoustics of the pipe organ with electronic music techniques to explore new poetics of the organ. Featuring Rahi's ongoing project 'Music for the Augmented Pipe Organ', the concert “transforms the world’s oldest mechanical synthesizer into a jarringly futuristic device …. makes the organ feel alive with possibility.” – (from The Wire: Adventures in Sound and Music)

George Rahi is an artist and composer based in Vancouver, unceded Coast Salish territories. His work spans installation, instrument making, composition, solo + ensemble performance, and works for radio, theatre + public spaces.

Angelique Po is organist and Director of Music at St. Andrew’s-Wesley United Church. She specializes in the playing of new music for organ and has performed new and unusual works around Canada and the world.
