Natural Building with Mudgirls: Constructing a Cob Bench!

Join us in LUSH Valley's Tsolum Garden for a two-part workshop on natural building. Learn the techniques of cob building from the talented Amber Hamilton of Mudgirls Natural Building Collective, and get your hands dirty creating unique outdoor seating!

This two-part course is designed for folks interested in exploring sustainable building practices and deepening their connection with nature. The philosophies of natural building and permaculture blend seamlessly, and what better place to get started than in your boots stomping cob?

We'll cover:

  • Building with Earthen materials
  • Mixing cob by foot
  • Using simple forms
  • Carving cob
  • Sculpting techniques


Choose from two session dates:

Saturday & Sunday, May 24-25, 10:00 AM – 2:30 PM

OR
Monday & Tuesday, June 2-3, 10:00 AM – 2:30 PM


Notes:

  1. No previous experience necessary.
  2. All materials and supplies will be provided by Mudgirls Natural Building Collective.
  3. Please wear close-toed shoes and sun protection, and bring water.

Have fun, make friends, get dirty and leave this two-day session with a new skill under your belt! Space is limited, so don't wait to register.


Amber Hamilton stumbled upon natural building and permaculture while travelling in 2012. After working with a number of international organizations, Amber returned to BC and joined the Mudgirls Natural Building Collective. She has a passion for teaching this unique trade, and sharing her knowledge with eager minds and muscles.
