About this event

  • Free venue parking

Each of our four events from November 2024- May 2025 will have a different focus, but all will provide an opportunity for personal spiritual growth and reflection, time in nature, and time with others who are also looking to tie their faith to Creation. These events are:

  • Designed for adults
  • Open to anyone of all faiths or no faith.
  • LGBTQ+ Affirming
  • Happening regardless of weather, but will always include an indoor option.

Sunday, November 3, 2-4pm: Psalms and Poetry of Creation

Join us for an afternoon where we’ll bask in the glory of this transition season and reflect on both expressions of gratitude and lament from the Biblical Psalms, poetry, and music. After some reflection and discussion, there will be an opportunity for silence and for participants to create their own psalm.

This gathering will be facilitated by Rev. Brenna Baker. Recommended donation: $10

Sunday, January 26 from 3-5pm: A Winter’s Tale

Grab your blanket and warm drink and join us around the campfire for the most ancient of artforms!

Palestinian-Croatian storyteller, Sarah Abrusar, will make us laugh and cry with her folktales about winter, creation, and justice. Then stay for some discussion, closing reflection, and social time.

Suggested donation: $10

Saturday, April 12 from 9:30-3:30p: A Nature Day Retreat for Older Adults

As we age, and especially after the long winter, maintaining connection with our bodies and with nature can be a challenge. Our leader, Tanya Dyck Steinmann of Wildscape Soul will lead us in spiritual practices to nurture our souls including contemplative prayer, guided walks, and lighthearted art making.

This retreat is being designed with older adults in mind, but is open to anyone needing some gentle time with others in nature.

Suggested donation: $25

Sunday, May 25 2-3:30pm: Forest Church and Prayers for Creation

Many of us feel overwhelmed in the face of global climate change and its impact on all of Creation. Join us for this Forest Church worship service where we’ll name our grief and share prayers of lament together. But we won’t stop there. Through sacred readings, silence, and music, we’ll also look for signs of hope as we immerse ourselves in the comfort and beauty of nature.

When registering for this time of worship and fellowship, we invite you to make a donation to express your gratitude for the Nature Nurture program.

For all sessions, please bring comfortable clothes and shoes, and dress for the weather. Some parts of the sessions are indoors and some will be out doors so layers are good. You may also wish to bring a notebook or something to write with and a water bottle or travel mug.
