After the death of his twin brother in 1991, Arcangelo's world view was shattered and his faith, challenged to the core. Arcangelo felt abandoned and in some ways; believed that God was distant and does not answer prayers. Although, unbeknownst to him, God was already at work calling him to discernment. 25 years ago, he answered a personal calling that would lead him away from his Protestant roots and into full communion with the Catholic Church. Just as he thought his journey into Catholicism had come to an end, he was wrong… it had only just begun. In 2005 he began his studies at the University of St. Michael’s College in Toronto and graduated in 2016, with a Master Degree in Religious Education. He is a recent graduate from the Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, at Yorkville University. Since 2017, Arcangelo has worked with Catholic Family Services of Toronto. He has a special passion for grievers and has personal experience in the area of bereavement, separation/divorce and other unrecognized loss. Through his own experiences and outreach, Arcangelo approaches grief and loss through enthusiasm, empathy and education. He gives back to the grieving through support group facilitation, public speaking and community engagement.
