To enter into a New Fiscal Relationship /10-year Grant agreement, a First Nations NPO must meet the eligibility criteria co-developed by Indigenous Services Canada, the Assembly of First Nations, and the FMB. The eligibility criteria for the Grant program is based on:

  • A Financial Administration Policy (FMB has a template)
  • A Financial Performance Review

FMB provides eligibility reports to Indigenous Services Canada confirming that your organization meets the criteria's. Indigenous Services Canada makes all final decisions on grant eligibility and whether to offer a grant.

The workshop will focus on the criteria and the support FMB can offer to your organization to meet them.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to book my own hotel?

No! When you register for the event you will automatically be placed onto the room block at the Grey Eagle Resort for one night on the Monday September 30. A confirmation will be sent a couple weeks out from the event.

What do I need to check-in?

Two pieces of valid ID and a credit card for incidentals (i.e., room service). If you do not have a credit card for incidentals, please let us know, as we can waive this requirement.

Are meals provided?

Yes! Breakfast, break, and lunch are provided during the workshop.

Travel Reimbursement

FMB is offering travel reimbursement for two (2) people per organization, of up to $1,000 per person. Please ensure to take the most direct and cost-effective route. A paper-copy reimbursement form will be provided at the event and a PDF version will be emailed.
