About this event

  • Event lasts 3 hours 30 minutes

We will be screening Looking for Muhyiddin, a film by filmmaker Nacer Khemir. The film is a deeply lyrical odyssey into the Life and legacy of Muhyiddin Ibn 'Arabi, whose name literally means "Reviver of the Life of the Spirit," which is a testament to his life and work. Thus, as we welcome 2025, it is our heartfelt hope and prayer that this year becomes an ‘Ihya al-Din’—a revival of our hearts and souls in the truest sense.

Welcome to the Rhoda Foundation: Sufi Garden for Spiritual and Community Growth!

Rhoda literally means Rose Garden; like a rose garden, we are a place you can come to grow, or just to admire the beauty.

The Rhoda Foundation is a centre for personal, spiritual, and community development.

WHAT IS 'ISLAMIC SPIRITUAL WELLNESS?’

Islam literally means to be in harmony with the Divine. This harmony is achieved through a process of development. Islamic Spiritual Learning is that process of personal, spiritual, and community development.

We learn in many ways including service to our fellow human beings, relating more authentically to one another, listening and sharing, engaging in the arts, and practicing meditation and prayer.

The Rhoda Foundation: Sufi Garden for Spiritual and Community Growth is here to revive the opportunity for people to access this holistic, all-round experience of learning-as-development. For anyone who attends even one event, our hope is that learning will feel like discovery of the sacred that lies all around us and within each of us.

A HEALTHY CULTURE FOR ALL

Just like different-coloured roses grow in a garden that has good soil, diverse human beings thrive in a healthy milieu that nurtures us.

We call this milieu culture - which literally means a medium that supports life. The Rhoda Institute is focused on forging a healthy culture in which community and individuals are nourished. Whether you are joining us for one event or to find a community to be part of, we hope you will benefit from the beauty of the milieu you experience at the Rhoda.
