Ron's Journey:
Ron has been courageously battling stage 4 cancer since his diagnosis in 2021. What began as an undiagnosed colon tumor tragically spread to his liver. Despite enduring radiation and almost 3 years of chemotherapy, the cancer continues to progress. Ron has found hope in an non-invasive treatment called histotripsy—an innovative and powerful new technology that unfortunately is not available in Canada, nor is it covered by insurance.
To access this life-saving technology, Ron and his wife, Cindy, have had to refinance their home and pay for the costly treatment that is only currently available in the US. But beyond their personal hardship; the couple has also been working to shine a light on the existence of advanced medical treatments like histotripsy, and the need for them to be brought to Canada.
“A Night of Light” reflects many shades of Ron’s journey—a juxtaposition of the gravity of his battle with cancer, the hope that continues to fuel his fight, and the joy found in moments of connection. The evening brings together a mix of performances, showcasing the resilience of the human spirit through art, music, and laughter.
The Night Will Feature:

- Original Music by Orchid Orchestra
- Poetry readings by Johnny Macrae
- Moments of fun and laughter with some delightful Clown and Improv acts
- Raffle Prizes
Venue will have drinks and food for sale.
