Have you ever felt overwhelmed by negativity in the media? Do you sometimes feel like there is little to no hope for the future? Well the Future Leaders Youth Council has some good news for you: this is NOT the End of the World!
Not the End of the World is an event that highlights the very real feelings of eco-anxiety, and climate related grief that we all know too well. This open mic/ concert night will engage community members by coming together to enjoy live music while learning what the Future Leaders Youth Council is all about. Special guests include a Canmore favourite, The Ducks, and more local performers! Light snacks provided.
This event is free for youth (24 and under) and by donation for everyone else. Cash donations will also be available at the door. Donations will go directly back into the Future Leaders Youth Council so we can continue to make positive environmental and social impacts on our community.
If you would like to secure a spot performing at the open mic, please email Jackie ad education@biosphereinstitute.org . We encourage performances and art to be centred around the feelings you have experienced towards the climate crisis (think: hope, grief, despair, togetherness, community).
