BLIND TIGER
During the Prohibition era, the term "blind tiger" served as code for a speakeasy. Legend has it that patrons would pay to glimpse a mythical blind animal, receiving a pour of illicit liquor as a bonus. Over time, "blind tiger" came to symbolize the potent drinks that made speakeasies famous.
