The Departure Festival + Conference, formerly known as Canadian Music Week, returns to Toronto! Departure is where the world’s hungriest talent find the inspiration, support, and resources they need to take it all the way.

Pacific Estate was formed in 2013 by a few bright-eyed high school kids looking to jam. Since then, they have evolved into one of Ontario’s premier up and coming indie rock acts. Unafraid of pushing the envelope, their willingness to blur the lines of genre while staying true to their hook-driven roots, catalyzes a fresh yet familiar take on modern rock.

The Flamingos Pink are a cross between energetic rock music, cow-punk and americana idle. The Montreal based power duo have described their sound as Grunge Vibe Light or Alternative 90s. Sacha Gubany (vocals, guitars) has the undeniable voice and a story to tell, teamed up with Julien Corrado (drums, percussion, backing vocals) - the off the wall drummer like a bat out of hell.

Dopamine Dream's edgy and innovative approach to music results in what they often playfully refer to as Gnome Rock: essentially the secret soundtrack that wakes the static garden gnomes and gets them to resume their mischievous frolicking throughout the forests where they belong. Fionn consists of twin sisters Alanna and Brianne Finn-Morris. The duo have quickly ascended through the ranks since their debut, crafting music that transcends genres and resonates deeply with listeners. Garnering over 2 million streams and gracing the cover of NEXT Magazine, Fionn are a star- studded duo you don't want to take your eyes off of.

Jenny Palacios pairs acoustic elements with fuzzy synths and nostalgic soundscapes. Her alt-rock roots notable in her most recent single Natalie's Advice, landing on Spotify playlists like Indie Pop and Fresh Finds Canada. Over the years, Jenny's opened stages for bands and artists across the board like Hawthorne Heights, I the Mighty, Warped Tour, MICO, Alex Porat, Nakedburn and more.
