Dates: Monday's : Jan 13,20,27, Feb 3

Time: 3pm - 4:30pm

Levels: Beginner and intermediate. Note - this class is not really geared towards brand new painters.

Location: 10-623 Farnham Rd, Gibsons BC – classes are upstairs in my townhouse. Note: I have a small friendly dog.

Painting abstract nature – layering acrylic paints / mixed media we will progress on the same painting each week and watch it shift in value and direction.

The progression classes take you from beginning – using a tracing method to get started, adding texture / mixed media, working through color + abstraction (middle) and ends with the slow down and cool off stage where we seek to add details and refine. Each class is 1.5 - 2 hours and includes demo’s and one-on-one time where we try and work through blockages and push boundaries. Let your creative voice shine.

- One session a week - same time each week

o Adding depth with bits of collage / medium

o Using glazing gloss medium to create translucent layers

o Adding stenciling

o Using an underpainting to create harmony

o Working with light, focal point and intuition

o The process of adding and subtracting

The process of adding and subtracting is a way to follow our intuitive voice to push beyond the first layer into the realm of the unknown. You may get something wonderful and completely unexpected.
