Back and bigger than before!
Located at William's Park in Langley. W/we will be ready to start having folks as early at 10:00am, but will be there all day till about 8:00pm. Come and go as you please.
W/we were able to snag the picnic shelter at William's park this time, so we all have a guaranteed space safe from whatever the weather brings us all. This event will run rain or shine, bring your own weather items as needed. There are picnic tables but W/we suggest bringing your own blanket and/or chairs to make sure you have somewhere comfy to sit.
For the whip fans Matt will still be hosting Whips in the Park this day 10:00-2:00 in the usual meadow spot, come to whip and stay to socialize and eat. If you've always been curious what WITP is like, walk on down and take a look for yourself!
W/we ask for folks to bring a dish to share as it is a full day potluck event. (Please label your dishes and mark any common allergies/sensitivities.) As well as your own beverages. William's Park is not one of the parks in Langley that allow alcohol. Please do not bring any alcohol as W/we can be fined by the city and will not be allowed to rent the venue again for any future events.
W/we will supply:
- Plates
- Napkins
- Bags for garbage and recycling
- Cutlery
- Couple food dishes
Please do not bring something that needs to stay heated as there is no guaranteed outlet spaces available.
This year the picnic will be a fundraiser for Whips in the Park. The goal is secure funds to buy some books/resources, make a communal whip care and cracker kit, save some money to help cover the costs of a venue during the winter and wet months, and if possible buy a couple more whips for the attendees to use. The event is free, but every dollar helps to keep that event going. Thanks to the donations from the community, Encrypted Events and U/us, W/we were able to add 7 whips to the event.
Note: this not a play party, please be dressed street legal as it is a public park with a playground. No play will be allowed at this event.
