Pottery: Introduction to Glazing

This is a two day workshop to help you understand and expand your knowledge of how glazes work using different layer combinations . More importantly, you will develop a respect for the the science involved.
Enough clay is provided to make up to 18 test tiles. Feel free to bring your own glazes; however, not necessary as you are welcome to use the house glazes.
Please bring a notebook.
Day 1: Nov 10th- 2- 3:30pm You will design, cut and hand mold up to 18 test tiles and learn the basic science behind glazing
Day 2: Nov 17th- 4pm will return and learn how to measure specific gravity and important variables before hand dipping your bisqued test tiles with multiple layer combinations using the in house glazes.
Glazed kiln fired pieces will be ready for pick up two weeks from last class.
