Tours are geared towards children 9+ years, but everyone is welcome. Minors must be accompanied by adults. If your group requires special accommodations, please check our Tours page to book a tour.
Come visit the Canadian Light Source (CLS), Canada's only synchrotron research facility. During your on-site visit of the CLS, our tour guides will lead you through our history, how our machine works, and will tell you stories about how scientists have used our facility to conduct ground-breaking research in the fields of health, agriculture, the environment, and advanced materials.

Tour cancellation
We reserve the right to cancel a tour. Tours may be cancelled if current public health restrictions change. If you are currently exhibiting flu-like symptoms, including, but not limited to: fever, cough, shortness of breath, and/or difficulty breathing, or if you have testing positive for COVID-19 within the last 10 days, then please do not come to the CLS and reschedule your visit for another time.
Frequently asked questions
Please provide your name, email and phone number. Include the name of each attendee if you are reserving multiple tickets. For a sold-out tour, no additional guests can be added.
Once you register, you will receive an Eventbrite email that confirms your booking along with your tickets. You don’t need to print them.

Arrive at CLS reception no more than 15 minutes before the beginning of your tour to check in. Due to building access restrictions, you may not be able to join the tour if you are late.
Food and drinks are not allowed in the tour areas. If you have any, please leave them at the reception and pick them up at the end of the tour.
You are welcome to take photos and tag us @canlightsource on Facebook, Instagram, X, and LinkedIn. We may take promotional photography during the tour to be used for CLS marketing purposes. If you prefer not to have your photo taken or published, please let us know during the tour
