About the Event
Reclaiming Our Narratives is a four-day event dedicated to amplifying voices, reclaiming untold histories, and celebrating the rich cultural contributions of Black communities. This community-centered event invites thought leaders, cultural activists, storytellers, and attendees from all walks of life to engage in dialogue, education, and inspiration through storytelling, art, and interactive discussions. A key focus of the event is to foster open conversations as part of a stigma-free approach to harm reduction, addressing substance use within Black communities in a culturally sensitive and affirming. With the backdrop of legalization, the event explores how to balance progress while understanding where we come from and where we are headed in our Black communities.

Visual Exhibit – A Journey Through Time (Free Entry):
- A public four-day multimedia exhibition chronicling the history of cannabis in Black communities.
- Trace its origins from East Africa over 1,000 years ago through modern-day interpretation, with vivid displays of photography, videos, and curated content
Artistic Showcases
Enjoy innovative multimedia pieces by emerging and established Black artists inspired by themes of heritage, resilience, and cannabis narratives.
Community Dialogue on February 27, 2025 @ 6:30pm
- Hear from renowned thought leaders and storytellers on reclaiming narratives within cultural and historical contexts.
- Participate in interactive panel discussions that spark dialogue and uncover overlooked narratives.
- Engage in a three-hour interactive discussion with elders, young adults (19+), artists, and activists.
- Share personal stories, exchange experiences, and discuss the overlooked impacts of cannabis on Black communities.
- Finish the evening with an audience-driven Q&A session to foster meaningful dialogue.
