About this event

Refine the fundamental techniques in shooting with a Red Dot Sight (RDS) mounted pistol as we help shooters transition from iron sights to their RDS. As more agencies transition to the RDS, learners receive a blend of RDS theory, then we integrate the lessons into an instructor-led live fire range session.


This training is for all law enforcement, armed protective services and civilians wanting to improve their skills and knowledge.


The seminar will focus on:

  • RDS benefits, setup and preparation
  • RDS zeroing
  • Red Dot acquisition techniques
  • Enhancing accuracy for round accountability
  • RDS failures


All course participants will require the following for this INDOOR event:

  • PAL/RPAL (retired sworn peace officers accepted)
  • Training t-shirt and cargo pants
  • Eye protection, electronic ear protection (recommended)
  • Duty belt, holster, magazine pouch
  • Pistol w/ minimum 3 magazines, minimum 300 rounds
  • RDS already mounted on your pistol
  • Blackhawk SERPA holsters are not permitted on the course
  • Soft body armour for LE & Armed Security
  • All participants are responsible for their own meals, snacks and hydration
  • A microwave and fridge are available on site

Brief Background

The primary instructor for this course is Chris Mandigma - a recognized authority in law enforcement training specializing in close quarter combatives. He has 15 years of experience in operational law enforcement, security and as an instructor. Chris is Canada's only TRICOM Master Instructor and instructs for multiple law enforcement agencies and has also instructed at NTOA, ISOA, and OTAB.
