About this event

Join us in a beautiful private space and receive the medicine of sound & gentle restful yoga poses to restore your nervous system.

Imagine stepping into a tranquil peaceful space in the middle of Toronto, filled with the smells of sage, palo santo, patchouli and lavender essential oils. Gentle music is playing as you arrive, you are greeted with a calming tea, you find your space on your yoga mat surrounded by your bolster, pillows, blocks, blankets, everything you might need to feel the most comfortable.

This event is for you if you:

  • have been going through burn out, working too much and not resting enough,
  • feel chronically depleted of energy and have been running on low battery for quite some time;
  • feel like you can’t take in a full breath of air;
  • have been going through a tough time (grief, loss, sadness, processing trauma),
  • want to deeply rest, stay still and receive because you have been giving too much to others,
  • want to access unprocessed emotions (anger, sadness, grief) that you have been stuffing down for a while,
  • want to release emotions of grief, loss, sadness,
  • want to tap deeper into joy, expansion, deeper self-love, self-appreciation,
  • know there is something in you that needs to come out,
  • want to sigh a giant sigh of relief,
  • have been neglecting yourself and avoiding taking care of yourself,
  • want to be gentle and soft with yourself,
  • know there is too much going on right now for you and you need to retreat from the hustle and bustle of your daily to do list.

What is restorative yoga:

Very gentle practice that includes easy poses on the ground. We make use of bolsters, pillows, blocks, blankets, in order to support the body to be the most comfortable. In the entire 90 minutes we will only move through a handful of soft, supportive, resting poses. Restorative yoga is not the practice to develop strength, flexibility, stamina, power. This practice is to come back to resting, and 'being' instead of doing.

What is a sound bath:

A sound bath is a meditative experience where you are “bathed” in sound waves. These waves are produced by various sources, including healing instruments such as gongs, singing bowls, percussion, chimes, rattles, tuning forks, and the human voice. The practice of healing bodies through sound is technically thousands of years old with deep roots in cultures across the world.

Benefits:

Research on the benefits of restorative yoga affirms that this healing practice promotes deep relaxation, reduces fatigue, lowers blood pressure and heart rate, improves sleep, and enhances immune response.

Restorative yoga poses release muscular tension, slows breathing, reduces anxiety, contributes to overall sense of wellbeing, soothes the nervous system, encourages mindfulness, improves concentration, cultivates peace of mind, and spiritual awakening.
