MEREDITH LOUISE

"Meredith Louise is a singer, songwriter, musician and Registered Music Therapist currently residing on the unceded lands of the Musqueam, Tsleil-Waututh and Squamish First Nations (Aka Vancouver, Canada). Hailing from Melbourne, Australia, Meredith combines infectious grooves with words that make you think, creating a sonic tapestry of jazz, neo-soul and R&B. Her strong vocals and colourful lyrics create rich imagery that takes the listener on a journey into the human condition. Intrigued by stories and the common threads that weave us together, Meredith writes songs about people, places and landscapes, and how we can find our way back to our truth. Since relocating to Canada two years ago, Meredith has cemented herself as a fixture in Vancouver's local music scene, having shared the stage with some of the city's finest musicians.

Produced by Josh Eastman at Helm Studios, and mixed and mastered by Sam Brawner from LA's Blue Dream Studios (Raquel Rodriguez, Mac Ayres, Moonchild, Swatkins), Meredith's debut EP Mind Frame was released in early 2023. Her sophomore EP Move Slow is due for release on August 30th 2024. A nod to 70s soul and funk records, Move Slow was mostly recorded live off the floor with organic instruments and textures, and encompasses Louise’s trademark sound that weaves jazz and soul alongside intricate colourful arrangements. Featuring a three piece horn section and percussion, the EP explores the theme of purposefully slowing down in a world that tries to speed everything up."
