How does this roundtable discussion relate to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)?

This roundtable discussion focuses on how data can be leveraged to drive DEI initiatives. By understanding and using the right data, we can identify disparities, track progress, and create strategies that promote equity and inclusion within our workplaces and organizations at large.

What kind of data will be discussed in this roundtable discussion?

We will explore various types of data, including demographic, behavioural and experiential data, & discuss how they can be used to uncover insights related to DEI. We will also explore best practices for collecting, analyzing & using this data to make informed decisions that foster positive change.

Why is data important for making a difference in our workplaces?

Data provides objective insights that can highlight existing gaps and opportunities within our workplaces. By using data effectively, we can make informed decisions, measure the impact of DEI commitments, and drive meaningful change that benefits everyone in the workplace.

I have spent over 20 years in the field of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging (EDIB) as an international speaker, facilitator and consultant. I work with individuals within organizations to help them notice more, to embrace inclusion, understand what equity means, and to create cultures of learning where people thrive.   In short - my team and I (at Annemarie Shrouder International) help to create healthy workplace communities. You can learn more about me, my team and what we do at annemarieshrouder.com

What has intrigued me most is the amount of times I have heard people say “I didn’t think of that!” “Wow, I never knew that!”. Also, how we all fear judgment, think it’s only us, and make up stories about other people that keep us apart. Even small opportunities to connect, ask questions, and talk have been so welcomed in my sessions – and we have all felt the energy in the room change.

Workshops and speaking engagements are my passion.

Assisting in the creation of healthy workplace communities (where we spend so much of our time) brings me joy, and walking with organizations on this journey is an honour. I have developed a Signature Methodology called the ABCs of Inclusion (TM) to achieve this goal.

Organizations engage me when they are looking to build spaces where people are acknowledged, where learning is valued, and where space is made to listen, learn and grow together - in service to customers and clients.
