Welcome to the Savvy Cycling Course!
Join us for a fun-filled day of safe cycling! This course is designed to allow you to build the confidence and competence to cycle safely on the road, providing you with the knowledge and skills essential for being safe and comfortable while cycling.
The course begins with one hour of "in-class" learning, with open discussion between the ambassadors and participants to learn the rules of the road as they apply to cyclists, and the theory required to understand taking to the roads on a bicycle fully. This is followed by 45 minutes of skill drills in a safe, marked-off area, where participants will practice the skills discussed in the in-class session, and complete mini-courses and exercises to hone their new skills. The course concludes with a 1.25-hour neighbourhood ride led by the ambassadors, putting participants' newfound skills to use on the road! Designed for kids 12+ and adults. - Understand the rights and responsibilities of cyclists
- Learn where to right on the road in different traffic situations
- Practice cycling skills drills in a safe location
