Seed Saving 101

Join us for Seed Saving 101, led by instructor Michalina Hunter of Cicada Seeds, where you’ll learn essential techniques for cleaning, storing, and preserving seeds from your garden. While the workshop will primarily focus on vegetable seeds, the skills you gain can also be applied to flowers, trees, and shrubs.

Ideal for both beginner and experienced gardeners, this session will teach you how to preserve your favorite plant varieties year after year. We’ll guide you through the best practices for collecting and storing seeds, ensuring they remain viable for future planting seasons.

What to Expect:

  • Learn the key methods for cleaning and storing seeds
  • Understand how to maintain seed varieties over time
  • Focus on vegetables, with tips for flowers, trees, and shrubs
  • Seeds will be available for purchase from Michalina
  • A Q&A session and discussion will follow the presentation from 12:00 to 12:30 PM

Schedule:

  • 10:30 AM – 11:30 PM: Presentation on seed saving techniques
  • 11:30 AM – Noon: Open discussion and Q&A

What should I know about the Bradley Centre?

The Bradley Centre has a ramp and automatic door opener at our front door. Our Cafeteria Room access door offers level access and is recommended for electric wheelchairs. Our facility is scent free and we ask that you are mindful of what scents my be in your personal and laundry products.
