Ellie Jeon
Ellie Jeon is a user experience designer, currently leading a team at Shopify. As a graduate of OCAD’s Graphic Design program, she started her design career as an editorial designer, eventually moving into the digital and mobile design space. Currently, her work focuses on designing a platform and its ecosystem, contributing both as a designer and a people manager.
Steph Shin
Steph is a product designer at Shopify who has worked on complex projects involving systematic and infrastructural design such as single sign on (SSO) and third party partner billing. She comes from a background of graphic design, working as an art director for studios and ad agencies in Toronto before pivoting into digital mediums. She’s worked at a number of tech companies in product areas such as productivity apps, marketing tech and commerce. She’s a creative problem solver who is passionate about improving every human experience and sees it as an opportunity to use her skills to pay it forward. When she’s not analyzing and distilling problems to solve, you can find her caring for her 75 plus plant babies.
Komal Javed
The best thing I look forward to everyday is not a fresh cup of coffee , it’s not an avocado toast with eggs, it’s saving the world from bad user experience.
Jessica Tam
Jessica Tam is a product designer at Shopify working on the experts team. Her work focuses on connecting merchants with trusted Shopify freelancers and agencies. Outside of work, Jessica spends her time doing pottery and working on her very own Shopify store where she sells quirky stickers.
Amanda Spilchen
Amanda is a product designer on Shopify’s Merchandising team, currently focusing on all things related to product pricing. She has had the opportunity to work across a variety of teams, including Creative Direction, Product Workflows, and the Home team. Prior to Shopify, Amanda received her Bachelor of Industrial design (BID) and has experience working at product and branding consultancies, as well as furniture design and manufacturing companies.
Patrick Kidney
Patrick is a Product Designer currently focused on crafting digital experiences at Shopify. He comes from a Fine Arts background with a BA in Industrial Design from Carleton University. Prior to Shopify, Patrick had the opportunity to work in many industries ranging from wearable technology to furniture design. Some previous clients include Lululemon, Mio Global, Health Canada, and Prooff.
