Join Hajar Ouzid, an amazing cook and gracious hostess for a special workshop on Moroccan tajines and other tasty treats. These dishes, named after the earthenware pot they are cooked in, are normally made for special holidays and celebrations, and are known for their rich balance of flavours and represent hospitality, joy and togetherness.
Gather around our open kitchen to prepare and cook two tagines. Her chicken tagine is simmered with aromatic spices, tangy preserved lemons, and briny olives. The vegetarian tagine displays a beautiful variety of seasonal vegetables cooked in a fragrant broth. Served with fluffy couscous and a fresh green salad. Her dessert is a not to be missed- flaky layered phyllo pastry filled with homemade creme Anglais and icing sugar. Served with mint tea, it's delicious end to a hearty Moroccan meal!
The workshop is held in the lovely, newly renovated Newcomer Kitchen workshop space on the top floor century loft at the Center for Social Innovation in downtown Toronto with easy access to the TTC.
