Authentic wines do not fit a specific mold, they embrace diversity and have at their heart a strong sense of place. For many, sustainability is just a buzzword, but for Peninsula it is about taking responsibility – as viticulturists, winemakers and citizens – to ensure actions now respect and protect the environment for the future. Peninsula’s vineyards are organically farmed and managed as integrated eco- systems that protect biodiversity, from the centenary oak trees and wild birds to the micro-organisms in the soils. The wines are made with as little intervention as possible in a process that also aims to minimize both carbon and water footprints, as well as waste generation. It also means creating viable market access for wines made from vineyards in risk of being abandoned, assuring a fair and sustainable income for growers and the communities that depend on them.

Join us for this special winemaker's event with Andreas Kubach MW, co-founder and managing director of Peninsula Vinicultores, a company that manages vineyards and wineries in Spain based on the values of authenticity and sustainability.

The focus of the evening will be on the wines from Peninsula's Bideona winery. Bideona produces terroir-driven, site-specific wines from historic, low-yielding vineyards in Rioja Alavesa. Bideona was created to contribute decisively to a new generation of Rioja wines – more expressive of origin than method of production.

Enjoy a selection of regional and single vineyard wines to provide a comprehensive overview of the past, present and future of Rioja. The talented culinary team at Happy & Olive will create a multi-course menu to compliment the terroir-driven wines of Bideona.
