About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

Sprouts are a burst of energy and flavour, packed into a tender green. Sprouting seeds, such as alfalfa, radish increases the nutrition and flavour of the greens, and is a great way to include fresh and delicious foods into your daily menu.

Join Amanda from Belmont Farmstead as we learn how to sprout seeds successfully using the jar method. The Jar method is a simple set up that consists of: a jar; seeds; a tilting stand; and a screen lid - all of which will ensure successful sprouting and delicious greens available every day, for next to no cost.

You will be completely set up to sprout at home after attending this workshop, we hope you can come!

This workshop is $20 and includes the Sprouting kit.

Organized by

The Seasoned Spoon is a non-profit, vegetarian, cooperative café located in Champlain College at Trent University. The café is committed to serving locally, and whenever possible, organically sourced food at affordable prices. A central part of our mandate as a not-for-profit community-based organization is also to offer educational opportunities to the campus and broader Peterborough community. This is realized primarily through paid and volunteer work positions, reskilling workshops, panel discussions, community meals, and student research projects. We endeavour to act as a space on campus where members can increase their awareness of food issues and be inspired to action.
