Loss of life from severe blood loss can happen in just a few minutes. Do you know what to do in a bleeding emergency?
In this STOP THE BLEED® course, you’ll learn three quick techniques to help save a life before someone bleeds out:
- How to use your hands to apply pressure to a wound.
- How to pack a wound to control bleeding.
- How to correctly apply a tourniquet.
These three techniques will empower you to assist in an emergency and potentially save a life.
This course does not replace first aid training. Rather, it enhances the participant's abilities to control major life-threatening bleeding that can occur in many of the activities club members participate in, as well as our daily life. Motor vehicle accidents, OHV accidents, recreational events, or sport-related injuries can and will happen in remote locations where help is far away. For a bystander or the first person on the scene, having the skills to manage massive bleeding could save a life.
