Join the Hand Eye Society and create a unique, story-focused video game experience. In this workshop, you’ll mess around with Twine to create a “choose-your-own-adventure” game. Let’s do some interactive storytelling!
The Storytelling with Twine workshop focuses on teaching participants the ins and outs of Twine, a free text-based engine where they can create their own text-based games. Participants will learn the fundamentals and potential of interactive storytelling by creating their own choose-your-own-adventure game. The skills and techniques taught in this workshop will help participants forge their next fantasy epic, nurture its narrative, and shape their very own story.
This program introduces examples of Twine games as examples of how the program works and a general breakdown of how the engine works. Through exploration of provided Twine examples, participants will learn the fundamentals of the program for the first hour of the program. Participants will then apply what they have learned to create their own games in the second half. Instructions on how to release their games online will conclude the workshop.
